CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is short-term, problem-focused treatment to increase awareness of the impact of thoughts on emotions and behavior.

TEAM-CBT, founded by Dr. David Burns, is a particular way of practicing CBT that works with your natural resistance to facilitate change in areas where you’re motivated.

Why TEAM?

Testing – Checklists before & after each session measure client concerns, progress and satisfaction.

Empathy – Feeling fully understood creates trust necessary for therapeutic change.

Agenda-setting identifies the natural resistance to change, working with the resistance rather than fighting against it.

Methods – A number of collaborative techniques may be introduced until we find those that work best for you.

TEAM-CBT can help with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Habit change

TEAM-CBT is much more active than traditional talk therapy. Each session is structured to identify an agenda, assess motivation for change, and implement methods in a collaborative approach. Your work between sessions reinforces progress and keeps you moving forward.
